Indian Rock Path

We will visit seven small parks centered on large rock formations, quintessential Berkeley neighborhoods with varied gardens (and more rocks) as well as pedestrian paths and stairways.Hikers on Indian Rock trail in Berkeley

This hike is mostly on city sidewalks and steps, with an  elevation gain of 500-600 feet. There is significant uphill walking to Cragmont Park. Mostly downhill after lunch.

Group:  Open to all.  Co-sponsored by the Berkeley Path Wanderers Association.

Directions:

We will meet at the NE corner of Solano Avenue and The Alameda, Berkeley, at the start of the Indian Rock Path, across the street from Jerusalem Organic Kitchen.  AC Transit buses 7, 18, and 25 all stop at Solano and The Alameda, about half a block from our starting point. Unmetered parking is available along The Alameda and on side streets (but not on Solano Ave).

From Highway I-80, take the Albany or Buchanan Street Exit.  Follow this east.  Buchanan Street becomes Marin Avenue after a few blocks.  Drive a couple of miles toward the hills and turn left at The Alameda.  Drive a few blocks to the intersection with Solano Avenue.
